As a wife, mom, business woman and thriving entrepreneur, God always reminds me of the need to maintain very strict adherence to divine order where my household is concerned.
One day last year I just had this wild and crazy idea; really it was a vision! The Lord showed me that as a woman, He needed me to walk in my Titus 2 calling as a keeper of the home. I was like, “OK God, now how is that going to happen when I work and my income helps sustain the house?” That’s when the Lord impressed upon my spirit: Do what I need you to do and I will provide for you.
I did! And, of course, He did!
As a women in business who is believing God for billionaire status, I have to understand that my business will only prosper, thrive and be successful to the degree that my home prospers, thrives and experiences success. That means, no matter how good my business plan is or how many investors I am able to secure funding from, I have to understand that my home is, and must remain my first priority if I am ever to prosper in business.
God’s divine order is Him first, your marriage second, followed by your children and other Kingdom assignments. However, so many women want to go out here and climb and dang near trample down the corporate ladder never realizing that God never intended for you to complete in the marketplace like your male counterpart. No! He gave you favor and that favor is supposed to make making money both beautiful and sweatless.
The reason a lot of women struggle in business, especially as entrepreneurs is because they are actually going after money when they should be going after divine order — God’s order in their home and then watching the Lord move on their behalf in their business because they chose to honor Him where it mattered most — in the home.
I talk a lot about the Proverbs 31 woman in my teaching and the reason why she is impactful in my mind is because out of all of her entrepreneurial undertakings, she kept her focus on what mattered most, which was God and her family. How many women entrepreneurs can say they are doing that today? Most times, women are going so hard for the dollar that they don’t even have time, let alone the interest, in caring for their homes or the people in it. However, Proverbs 14:1 says that a wise woman build her house (and everyone in it).
What makes a women wise? I am glad you asked. In fact, I ask myself that question a lot too. And although it has taken me almost 10 years, I finally understand what makes a woman wise — she understands divine order! She understands that she can totally be an entrepreneur and still thrive in the marketplace all without sacrificing her commitment to doing the work of the Lord in her home.
It is this understanding that helped me realize just how much God is able to do in the live and business of a woman who is committed to honoring Him by obeying His charge to be a keeper of the home. In my own life, I have seen the blessing of God overwhelm my business, not because I have this bomb business plan, but because I honor God by honoring Him in my home and where caring for the needs of my family are concerned.
A lot of people look at the woman described in Proverbs 31 without ever realizing that everything she was in business and everything she was able to accomplish was directly connected to the fact that she did everything she did in business without ever compromising her commitment to her family.
Seeing this was very freeing for me. I tell you it freed me up to focus on what matters most, while giving every thing else to God. I took care of my family and I turned my business over to God. I focused on being the wife and mother I knew would please Heaven and I submitted my business plans, purposes and path to God. And let me tell you, God showed out. He did more with me focusing on my family than I would have ever accomplished grinding eight hours a week. Isn’t He just so faithful?
So wife, where’s your focus? Are you focused on the needful thing like Mary? Or are you consumed with the cares of this world like Martha?
What I learned during this time was that the faithfulness of God can prosper me in business quicker than any of my own devices. This is now one of the primary business concepts and the foundation of all of my business trainings.
As wives, we need to know that God will prosper us financially and in business when our homes and marriages are our first priority. In fact, He will use our homes to develop the anointing in us – and then He will grow and strengthen our families and release us to the world.
This is exactly what He did for the woman in Proverbs 31. That woman was a serial entrepreneur — she was a brand — but notice how all that wealth came to her while she was tending to her home first. She operated in divine order, and THE blessing hit her house and business because of it!!!
I am a witness to the blessing that can and will overtake your business when you are committed to divine order. I have learned that it is the only way. So, for all the wives in business, please understand that THE blessing cannot hit your business or your finances if your home is not in order. It’s time to focus on the needful thing knowing that God will come in and dwell richly and lavishly in an atmosphere of divine order. … And when God is in the midst … Glory!
Wives, your home is a blessing because everything and everyone in it confirms the anointing on your life. As a result, when you go into the market place to do business you can be confident knowing that the anointing you operate in at home is 7 times more powerful in the Babylonian market place.
Wives achieving divine order in the home doesn’t mean you need to actually “DO” everything. You can hire help, supervise, outsource and delegate. That’s what the Proverbs 31 woman did. She had hand maids for a reason. Know that you can do everything without actually “doing” everything. It’s time to think expansion, systems, duplication, etc.
